When choosing a cruise cabin, many travelers naturally look for a balcony – a private place to slow down and enjoy the scenery. Aboard Red Dragon Junk, every cabin has been designed with this connection to Bai Tu Long Bay in mind.

With only 8 cabins on board, Red Dragon offers 6 Deluxe Cabins with an Indoor Balcony (Loggia) and 2 Deluxe Balcony Cabins with a private open-air balcony.
Both give you your own private space facing the bay. The difference is in how you prefer to experience it: sheltered within the cabin or open to the fresh air.
What Is an Indoor Balcony (Loggia)?
The Indoor Balcony, or loggia, is one of the distinctive design features of Red Dragon Junk.

Unlike a conventional balcony that extends completely outside the cabin, the loggia is integrated into the cabin itself, creating a sheltered private corner facing Bai Tu Long Bay. Large sea-view openings bring the landscape closer, while the surrounding structure gives the space a greater sense of privacy and protection. It is not simply a window or seating area. It is a dedicated space where you can sit beside the bay, enjoy your morning coffee, read, talk, or simply watch the limestone islands slowly pass by. The experience is more intimate and sheltered than a traditional outdoor balcony, while still keeping you closely connected with the scenery.
Deluxe Cabin with Indoor Balcony (Loggia)
Our Deluxe Cabins with Indoor Balcony (Loggia) combine warm wooden interiors, graceful curves and Vietnamese-inspired details with modern comfort. At the edge of the cabin, the loggia creates a tranquil corner of your own. In the morning, sit quietly as the first light reaches the limestone formations. The Indoor Balcony itself provides a sheltered private space connected closely to the bay.

But that is not the only place to enjoy the view. Separate from the loggia, each cabin also features a quiet bay-view corner beside the large window, furnished with a comfortable chair and small table. This corner creates a different kind of experience.

It may become the place where you enjoy your morning coffee, read a few pages of a book, or simply sit and watch the limestone islands slowly pass by. The large window frames the scenery just beyond, allowing you to enjoy Bai Tu Long Bay while remaining comfortably inside the cabin.
Together, the Indoor Balcony (Loggia) and the bay-view seating corner offer two separate spaces for slowing down and enjoying the journey.
Why Choose an Indoor Balcony (Loggia)?
More privacy
Because the loggia is incorporated into the structure of the cabin, the space feels naturally more secluded.
You remain connected to the landscape without feeling overly exposed to other areas of the vessel.
A sheltered space throughout the journey
Conditions on the bay naturally change throughout the day.
The Indoor Balcony allows you to sit close to the scenery while remaining more protected from strong sunlight, wind or light rain.
Part of your cabin, not separate from it
One of the qualities we particularly love about the loggia is the natural flow between the bedroom and the view outside.
There is no strong separation between your room and your private viewing space.
The cabin simply extends towards the bay.
Made for slow moments
A cruise is not only about kayaking, caves or other activities. Some of the most memorable moments happen quietly in between. A morning coffee. A book after lunch. Watching fishing boats in the distance.
Or simply sitting together while Red Dragon moves slowly between the limestone islands. The loggia gives you a private place for these moments.
A separate bay-view corner
In addition to the loggia, the cabin offers a dedicated seating corner next to the large sea-view window.
The chair and small table make it easy to settle in and enjoy the scenery without needing to step onto the balcony space.
It is a simple detail, but one that can become part of the daily rhythm of the journey.
Deluxe Balcony Cabin: An Open-Air Experience
For guests who especially enjoy being outdoors, Red Dragon also offers two Deluxe Balcony Cabins, located on the upper deck, each features a private open-air balcony with a lounger.

Simply open the door and step outside to feel the breeze and enjoy the surrounding landscape from your own private space. It offers a different atmosphere from the Indoor Balcony (Loggia) – more open, airy and directly exposed to the natural surroundings.

For guests who enjoy spending as much time outdoors as possible, the Deluxe Balcony Cabin may be the preferred choice.
Indoor Balcony (Loggia) or Open-Air Balcony?
Rather than thinking of one cabin as better than the other, we recommend choosing according to the way you like to travel.
| Indoor Balcony (Loggia) | Open-Air Balcony | |
| Private balcony style | Sheltered and integrated into the cabin | Exterior private balcony |
| Atmosphere | Intimate and protected | Open and airy |
| Privacy | More enclosed and secluded | More open to the surroundings |
| Weather protection | More sheltered | Fully outdoors |
| Additional feature | Separate bay-view chair and table beside the large window | Outdoor lounger |
| Experience | Enjoy the bay from a sheltered balcony and an indoor viewing corner | Step outside directly into the fresh air |
| Cabin location | Main guest deck | Upper deck |
| Number of cabins | 6 | 2 |
If you prefer a quiet, sheltered and private experience, the Indoor Balcony (Loggia) may suit you particularly well.
If stepping completely outdoors from your cabin is especially important to you, the Open-Air Balcony may be the better fit.
Two Different Balcony Experiences
Red Dragon was never designed as a large cruise ship with rows of identical cabins.
With only eight cabins, the vessel was created around a more intimate philosophy – combining the character of a traditional Vietnamese junk with thoughtful spaces that allow guests to experience Bai Tu Long Bay in different ways. This boutique approach and emphasis on privacy are central to the Red Dragon concept.
Six cabins feature an Indoor Balcony (Loggia). Two cabins on the upper deck feature an Open-Air Balcony. The difference is intentional. One offers a more sheltered, private way to stay close to the scenery. The other offers a more open-air connection with the bay. And in the Indoor Balcony cabins, the separate bay-view corner adds another quiet place to sit and enjoy the landscape.
Which One Should You Choose?
Choose the Deluxe Cabin with Indoor Balcony (Loggia) if you appreciate privacy, shelter and having more than one place within your cabin to enjoy the view. Choose the Deluxe Balcony Cabin if fresh air and stepping directly outdoors from your room are especially important to you.
As there are only two Deluxe Balcony Cabins aboard Red Dragon, they are often reserved early, particularly during popular travel periods. If they are unavailable for your preferred departure, the Indoor Balcony cabins still offer a distinctive private experience: a sheltered loggia facing the bay, together with a separate chair-and-table corner beside the large window. Ultimately, the choice is not simply about having a balcony or not.
It is about how you prefer to experience the bay from your private space.

6 cabins feature the Indoor Balcony (Loggia), making it an important part of Red Dragon’s cabin design. 2 cabins on the upper deck offer an Open-Air Balcony for travelers who specifically prefer an exterior space. Both are designed around the same idea: giving you your own peaceful place to experience Bai Tu Long Bay.

The question is whether you prefer yours as a sheltered indoor loggia or as an open-air balcony.
Your Private Corner of Bai Tu Long Bay
Aboard Red Dragon Junk, your cabin is more than somewhere to return to after each activity. It is part of the journey. From early morning mist to the warm light of late afternoon, Bai Tu Long Bay is constantly changing outside your room.

Whether you experience it from the shelter and privacy of your Indoor Balcony (Loggia) or from the open air of your private outdoor balcony, both offer something increasingly rare: a quiet place of your own from which to simply watch the bay go by.
Two balcony experiences. One timeless journey through Bai Tu Long Bay.
